Terms of Use
Publisher and purpose
Verba is an app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac published by Kamel Laïmène EI, a sole proprietor doing business as Coffee Beans, 4 rue de Cambo, 75019 Paris, France (SIREN 521 998 120). These terms govern your use of the app and the Verba API. By using Verba, you accept them.
License
Verba is licensed, not sold, to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These terms supplement it; in case of conflict regarding the license itself, Apple’s EULA prevails.
The service
Verba records your conversations, transcribes them and, at your request, writes a summary (key points, decisions, tasks) using an artificial intelligence model. Ask answers your questions based on your conversations. How it works and how data is processed are described in the Privacy Policy.
Free plan and subscriptions
- Free: on-device recording and transcription, iCloud sync, and 3 free summaries per device.
- Premium: €9.99 per month, 15 summaries per month, with Mistral Large, a European model.
- Diamond: €49.99 per month, choice of model and processing region, Ask across your full history, priority support. A fair use policy applies, up to about 100 hours of meetings per month.
Prices are shown in euros, including all taxes; the price that applies in your country is the one shown by the App Store at the time of purchase. Unused quotas do not roll over.
Subscriptions are purchased and billed by Apple to your Apple Account. They renew automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel them in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on iPhone or iPad, or in the App Store on Mac. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
Withdrawal rights and refunds are handled by Apple, under the App Store’s terms (reportaproblem.apple.com).
Using your own key
If you connect Verba to an AI provider with your own key, you are responsible for that account, for any fees the provider charges and for complying with its terms. Coffee Beans is not a party to that relationship.
Responsible use
Recording a conversation is your responsibility. Depending on the country, the law may require you to inform participants, or even obtain everyone’s consent, before recording. You agree to inform the people you record and to respect applicable law and their privacy.
You also agree not to use Verba for unlawful purposes, not to infringe the rights of others, and not to circumvent quotas or misuse, overload or disassemble the app or the Verba API.
Limitations of artificial intelligence
Transcripts and summaries are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions or inaccurate interpretations. Check important information before relying on it. Verba does not provide legal, medical, financial or professional advice.
Your content
Your recordings, transcripts and summaries belong to you. Coffee Beans claims no rights to them and processes them only to provide the service you request.
Availability and changes to the service
We do our best to keep Verba and the Verba API running without interruption, but cannot guarantee it: maintenance and provider or network outages may occur. App features may change. Because your conversations stay on your devices and in your iCloud, an API outage does not prevent you from recording or reviewing them.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Coffee Beans is not liable for indirect damages, for the consequences of a transcription or summary error, or for data loss caused by deleting the app, by a retention setting or by the device. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or the rights the law guarantees you as a consumer.
Intellectual property
The Verba name, its icon, the app, its code and this website are the property of Coffee Beans. The trademarks and logos of AI providers belong to their respective owners.
Ending your use
You can stop using Verba at any time: cancel your subscription, then erase your data and delete the app. We may suspend access to the Verba API in case of use that violates these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version; if there is a significant change, we will let you know in the app or on this website.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If a problem arises, please write to us first: we will look for an amicable solution. If you are a consumer, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge: [médiateur de la consommation à compléter : nom et site]. Failing agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the protective rules of the country where you reside.
